Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has unveiled the new AMD Radeon RX 6000M Series mobile graphics, designed for delivering superior gaming performance.

Introduced at Computex 2021, the new graphics hardware includes the top-of-stack Radeon RX 6800M, which is claimed to be the fastest AMD Radeon graphics processing unit (GPU) for laptops.

Radeon RX 6800M provides 1440p/120 FPS performance with a blend of raytracing, compute, and traditional effects for enabling true-to-life visuals.

The AMD Radeon RX 6000M Series Mobile Graphics, which also includes AMD Radeon RX 6700M and AMD Radeon RX 6600M GPUs, have been designed to provide high visual fidelity and immersive experiences to gaming laptops.

The AMD Radeon RX 6700M GPU has a gaming performance of 1440p/100FPS, while the AMD Radeon RX 6600M’s gaming performance is 1080p/100FPS.

Built on AMD RDNA 2 gaming architecture, the new series of GPUs are said to deliver up to 1.5 times higher performance or up to 43% lesser power at the same performance level, when compared to AMD RDNA architecture.

Apart from that, the AMD Radeon RX 6000M Series mobile graphics are powered with AMD Infinity Cache, DirectX Raytracing (DXR), and other advanced technologies.

The infinity cache of Radeon RX 6800M is 96MW, for Radeon RX 6700M it is 80MB, and for Radeon RX 6600M it is 32MB.

The other features of the Radeon RX 6000M Series mobile graphics include AMD Smart Access Memory, AMD SmartShift Technology, AMD Radeon Chill, and AMD FidelityFX.

At Computex 2021, AMD also unveiled the AMD Advantage Design Framework, aimed at enabling AMD and its global PC partners to develop the next generation of premium, high-performance gaming laptops.

The new laptops in the framework combine AMD Radeon RX 6000M Series Mobile Graphics, AMD Ryzen 5000 Series Mobile Processors, and AMD Radeon Software among others.

The first AMD Advantage laptops designed from the framework are anticipated to be available from major OEMs starting from June 2021, said the US semiconductor company.

AMD graphics business unit corporate vice president and general manager Scott Herkelman said: “There have been incredible advances in gaming over the last several years, with powerful technologies allowing desktop PCs to deliver high-octane, beautifully complex and immersive worlds like never before.

“Today we’re excited to bring the high-performance, energy-efficient AMD RDNA 2 architecture to next-generation laptops to unlock the same level of high-performance experiences and true-to-life visuals for mobile gamers.

“With AMD Advantage, gamers can be sure these next-gen laptops are designed, optimised and purpose-built for the best possible gaming experiences.”
