Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) said that it has been selected by Unimed Grande Florianópolis, a branch of Brazil’s medical cooperative group Unimed, for powering innovation and transforming patient outcomes.

Unimed Grande Florianópolis has opted to utilise HPE’s open and secure edge-to-cloud platform, HPE GreenLake, to create new digital touchpoints and services for patients across Brazil.

Popularly known as Unimed Floripa, Unimed Grande Florianópolis offers healthcare services within the Santa Catarina state.

The group is claimed to serve over 220,000 people in 17 cities through 270 clinics, 20 hospitals, 90 medical labs, and 1,700 doctors.

Unimed Grande Florianópolis IT infrastructure specialist Leandro Morales said: “The performance improvement is undeniable. With HPE GreenLake we’ve also seen a significant leap in project activity with a much faster response to new projects and ideas.

“Previously provisioning new resources could take days and now this can be done in five minutes. It’s a far more agile way of working.”

The healthcare services provider is said to have transformed its IT around the HPE GreenLake platform to build an agile, scalable, high performance private cloud with a pay-per-use financial model.

From appointment management to patient record access, HPE’s edge-to-cloud platform is claimed to offer a single technological environment for all aspects of care.

Through the platform’s pay-per-use model, Unimed Grande Florianópolis and its service users are expected to realise the optimal value from their investment, the highest level of reliability from a single management interface, and a scalable integrated solution.

HPE said that it has worked in partnership with Sercompe, an HPE authorised partner, to develop the system customised to the special needs of the Brazilian healthcare system.
