Kratos Defense & Security Solutions has won a command and control (C2) system consolidated (CCS-C) sustainment and resiliency (C-SAR) contract worth $579m for the US Space Force SATCOM C2 system.

The single indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract started on 1 December 2023 and has options until 31 May 2032.

According to the company, it will issue future task or delivery orders to support operations, sustainment or enhancements of the CCS-C and related systems.

CCS-C delivers consolidated MILSATCOM tracking, telemetry and command capability for the US Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC) Space Delta 8 for on-orbit and anomaly resolution operations.

Besides, the CCS-C programme develops the C2 system for most US MILSATCOM systems, including the Defense Satellite Communications System, Milstar, Wideband Global SATCOM and Advanced Extremely High Frequency satellites.

C-SAR guarantees secure and integrated communications for the US MILSATCOM needs.

It also offers satellite and communication system products, hardware and equipment to support the SSC’s mission to develop, acquire, equip, field and sustain lethal and resilient space capabilities.

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions said the C-SAR contract delivers sustainment, post-production development services and enhancements for the CCS-C system.

Kratos space, training and cyber division president Phil Carrai said: “Through CCS-C, Kratos supports the US military with satellite-based services to achieve their mission.

“This is an important recompete win for one of our largest space domain contracts. Kratos is one of the few companies that can provide a mix of cutting-edge technology and expertise to strengthen global capabilities of the US Space Force, other branches of the US military and international allies.”
