Tech Mahindra has opened a 5G innovation lab in Bellevue, Washington with an objective to enable customers to co-create and co-innovate 5G powered solutions.

According to the Indian IT company, the lab will curate vertical solutions in the telecommunications space in order to aid customers in realising their future business goals by using 5G and related technology.

The 5G innovation lab will combine an ecosystem of partners from both telecom and cloud to help develop end-to-end solutions for enterprises.

It will see software and hardware developers, cloud service providers, and operators come together to jointly build solutions that are expected to define a new era of a customer experience driven by 5G.

Tech Mahindra communications, media and entertainment business president and network services CEO Manish Vyas said: “As digital transformation becomes the norm for enterprises across the globe, 5G-powered abilities, use cases, and market opportunities will revamp the way we work, live, and play – now and in the future.

“The West Coast and particularly the Greater Seattle area is a very prominent innovation hub; and the newly launched 5G lab is one such deep investment to help customers in the region and across the globe to accelerate their innovation journey and more importantly leverage Tech Mahindra’s deep expertise to make this technology both real and impactful.”

Tech Mahindra said that it will leverage data for promoting innovation and making new and differentiated smart products. The company will also use the power of data to enhance supply chains, deliver new customer experiences, and generate new sources of value.

For this, the company plans to focus on innovating network technology through the industry-focused transformative solutions within the lab ecosystem in the UK, India, and Malaysia.

Tech Mahindra claimed that its 5G offerings will enable communication service providers in shifting to a 5G mobile network that is more open, intelligent, virtualised as well as fully interoperable. This will help them offer end-users an improved experience, said the Indian firm.

The company said that its 5G innovation lab has a completely integrated offering of infrastructure, testing and network set up, which includes a dedicated team of 5G engineers at the location to guide customers.

Earlier this year, the company entered into a partnership with Nokia to boost 5G private wireless adoption globally.
