Meta has started rolling out its first generative artificial intelligence (AI)-driven features for ad creatives in the company’s Ads Manager section for all advertisers.

The Facebook parent company expects to complete the worldwide rollout of generative AI-driven ad tools by next year.

According to Meta, the new features will help advertisers to maximise productivity, customisation, and performance.

The background generation feature enables advertisers to customise their creative assets for different audiences by developing multiple backgrounds to complement the advertiser’s product images.

By easily adjusting creative assets to fit diverse aspect ratios across multiple platforms, the image expansion tool will allow advertisers to spend less time and resources on repurposing creative works.

The Text Variations feature will create various versions of ad texts based on advertiser’s original copy. It will emphasise the selling points of their products or services as well as provide advertisers with various text options to better reach their audience.

Meta announced AI Sandbox, the new tools and features, in May 2022.

The social technology company has been testing the generative AI features with a small and diverse set of advertisers.

Meta said: “Today’s generative-AI powered ad features are just a start. We plan to offer advertisers more ways to generate ad copy to highlight product selling points or generate background images in minutes with tailored themes, like outdoor images for an athleisure brand.”

The American company is also planning to make use of AIs for business messaging on Messenger and WhatsApp to interact with customers.

Meta said that it is testing with a small number of businesses in Alpha and aims to advance it further next year.
