Indian IT major Infosys has launched a metaverse foundry aimed at easing and expediting the exploration by enterprises of the metaverse, including augmented and virtual environments.

The company said that the new service will help businesses steer the metaverse by partnering with them via the discover-create-scale cycle. Enterprises will be able to discover value in the metaverse with more than 100 ready-to-apply use cases and templates, said the Indian firm.

With the new metaverse foundry, enterprises can harness the confluence of capabilities as services on-tap, with the flexibility to scale up and down their explorations at will, said Infosys. This provides enterprises on-demand ability to create their own metaverse environment securely and efficiently.

The metaverse foundry is also expected to help organisations provide signature experiences in an existing metaverse. Besides, enterprises can bring advanced artificial intelligence (AI) powered data analytics and simulations for realising their changing aspirations as the internet evolves.

Infosys president Ravi Kumar S said: “The physical and virtual worlds are already smoothly and ubiquitously interwoven. The metaverse will deepen this overlap and in very experiential ways that will create abundant space for business innovation.

“We want to help our clients to quickly double down on those opportunities in a find-fast, learn-faster environment before they can reorient their own capabilities, processes and culture in-house to respond to this rapidly evolving space.”

Infosys metaverse foundry is said to be an integral part of Infosys Living Labs, which is said to help build innovative solutions for clients through contextualisation of emerging technologies.

According to Infosys, the new service puts to work its depth in business domains and expertise in immersive, interactive, and experiential design for enterprises through its business cases, use cases, and execution roadmaps.

Enterprises get to leverage technologies such as augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR), blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), non-fungible token (NFT), Applied artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and 5G for advancing value exploration in the metaverse.

Infosys is also tapping the new service to extend its global corporate university, which is currently on Infosys Wingspan platform, to the metaverse. This will allow the company’s employees to effortlessly change between physical and virtual learning spaces while getting benefits from engaging and unexpected interactions with fellow learners and educators.
