GovCIO has won a contract worth $390m from the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for providing IT programme management, technical management, and strategic solutioning support for the latter’s health portfolio.

The contract is a follow-on effort to the existing Health Portfolio Program Management Office and Technical Support contract of GovCIO, which commenced in 2018.

During the coming five years, the company will continue providing services for the health services portfolio of the VA Office of Information and Technology (OIT).

Presently, the portfolio is made up of nearly 450 products within two product offices and nine product lines.

GovCIO CEO Jim Brabston said: “GovCIO is incredibly pleased to continue our partnership with VA OIT’s Health Services Portfolio. Our team is committed to ensuring Veterans and their loved ones receive the best possible healthcare.”

GovCIO said that it will take an inclusive, scalable portfolio management approach and evidence-based, data-driven analyses for executing the contract.

The company plans to utilise modern agile and DevSecOps practices for delivering strong and seamless service delivery support that can continually address the growing and evolving requirements of VA OIT’s health services portfolio.

According to the company, specific work areas that will be included are IT product line management, technical management, product management, requirements management, financial management, release management, implementation management, and schedule support.

GovCIO veteran and enterprise technology sector senior vice-president Erin Mirsky said: “We are incredibly proud of the positive impact GovCIO has had on the VA OIT Health Services Portfolio over the past four years.

“We look forward to collaborating further with VA OIT to build on these successes and continue delivering the vital IT tools and resources that improve the accessibility, quality, and efficacy of care for Veterans.”

Recently, GovCIO won a contract worth $65m from the Department of Veterans Affairs for Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) Products Sustainment and Enhancement Services.

The five-year contract will be executed by the company by partnering VA OIT’s Software Product Management Office in support of the Education Veteran Readiness and Employment Product Line (EVREPL) within its benefits and memorials services portfolio.
