General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has won a $4.5bn user facing and data centre services (UDS) contract from the US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).

The UDS is a single-award indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract. It has an ordering period of 10 years.

Under the contract, the business unit of aerospace and defense company General Dynamics will be responsible for delivering hybrid cloud services. These include commercial clouds and data centre, and innovative IT design, engineering, implementation and operations and sustainment to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency as well as its mission partners.

GDIT president Amy Gilliland said: “We are proud of our longstanding partnership with NGA and look forward to this opportunity to continue to leverage our portfolio of innovative technologies and services to advance the geospatial mission.”

GDIT said that it will advance capabilities in geospatial intelligence and support worldwide users by providing a complete variety of enterprise services. Among these are application services, virtual desktop, high-performance computing, unified communications, Platform as a Service, DevOps, and mobile secure wireless across various networks and agency locations around the world.

The company said that the implementation of technology will also support the IT infrastructure at the new campus of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency in St. Louis, Next NGA West.

Last month, GDIT won a $162m worth contract from the US Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The identity, credential and access management (ICAM) Other Transaction Authority (OTA) phase 3 production agreement comes with a one-year base period and four option years.

In February 2022, the company revealed winning a $829m worth contract from the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Virginia Contracting Activity. Under the contract, the company will offer a wide range of remote and on-site IT services to support networks and domains at DIA locations around the world.
