Accenture Federal Services (AFS) has won a contract worth $199m from the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

Under the seven-year contract, the subsidiary of Accenture will specifically support the information technology, technology solutions division (IT TSD) of the agency.

Accenture Federal Services will help IT TSD operate and consolidate three credentialing systems into a unified platform to enhance the manner in which the Transportation Security Administration responds to threats and changing operational requirements.

Accenture Federal Services managing director and TSA lead Anthony Pinheiro said: “These three systems play a critical role in delivering credentials to approximately 30 million individuals, including TSA PreCheck customers, transportation workers, airline crews and hazmat drivers, among others.

“This new single platform will significantly streamline operations and provide TSA with the flexibility needed to more rapidly adapt to changing threats.”

Apart from project management, operations support services, and cybersecurity, the Accenture subsidiary will utilise an agile methodology to improve and modernise the applications on a single new platform.

Accenture Federal Services managing director and DHS lead Maurine Fanguy said: “TSA’s credentialing systems play a critical role in protecting our nation from a broad range of threats.

“With this enhanced platform, we will continue to deliver secure, seamless support for millions of people in need of TSA credentials, while at the same time modernizing processes to deliver enhanced business value and efficiency.”

Earlier this year, Accenture Federal Services announced that Novetta, an advanced analytics company it had purchased last August, had signed an agreement to commercialise Platform One, which is the software development platform of the US Air Force (USAF).

In July 2021, the Accenture subsidiary won an enterprise resource planning (ERP) contract worth $729m for the US Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM).
