Accenture has agreed to acquire UK-based digital engineering company Objectivity which focuses on cloud and platform development services to support clients expediting their transformation journey for quick innovation.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 1991, Objectivity offers custom software solutions, digital transformation, and IT consulting.

The firm supports its customers to make use of the latest technologies to develop the most fit-for-purpose digital solutions.

Objectivity is said to work with clients from various industries, including finance, retail, health and social care, manufacturing and others.

Objectivity founder Rob Helle said: “For more than 30 years, Objectivity has provided innovative thinking to create the most fit-for-purpose digital solutions.

“Our values-driven culture allowed us to successfully become an international, virtual organisation, where clients and employees have been continuously growing together.

“Joining the Accenture team will enable us to achieve more because we will be stronger together with Accenture.”

Through the acquisition, Accenture anticipates strengthening its cloud-first capabilities, enabling clients to access more open and adaptable platform models and services to accelerate their digital transformation.

Accenture is expected to benefit from Objectivity’s extensive expertise in platform engineering, cloud-native computing and application modernisation.

Accenture cloud first global lead Karthik Narain said: “A new wave of platform engineering is creating opportunities for companies to accelerate reinvention and value creation.

“With a strong digital core powered by cloud, organisations can continuously adapt to industry dynamics, using platforms to reimagine value chains and embrace new business models.

“Objectivity’s strong engineering culture and delivery experience will help our clients pivot and launch new products quickly and efficiently.”

Accenture said the acquisition comes after other recent global investments supporting its platform engineering services, including Fairway Technologies, HeadSpring, Imaginea and others.

The closing of the transaction is subject to customary conditions.

Last week, Accenture announced a partnership agreement with artificial intelligence (AI)-powered climate intelligence (CI) platform Cervest to deliver new solutions to customers requiring resilience amid increased climate risk.
