Accenture has agreed to acquire Norwegian business consulting company Einr which focuses on high-volume logistics solutions using SAP technologies to streamline the flow of products from manufacturers to consumers.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Through the acquisition, Accenture expects to bolster its SAP capabilities to expedite supply chain reinvention for organisations within the retail and consumer electronics industries.

Accenture senior managing director and enterprise and industry technologies lead Emma McGuigan said: “In times of disruption, organisations need to reinvent their supply chains to meet rapidly changing customer expectations, grow and become more profitable.

“With the acquisition of Einr, we will strengthen our SAP supply chain and logistics capabilities, which help our clients move to more responsive, resilient and sustainable supply chains.”

Established in 2015, the business consulting firm streamlines the flow of goods in partnership, from the manufacturer through complex storage solutions and goods routes to the consumer via stores or digital channels.

Following the closing of the deal, 42 employees of Einr are expected to join the Accenture SAP business group in the Nordics.

Accenture said the Einr employees will strengthen the company’s SAP offerings in the market with specific competencies in retail and supply chain management, warehouse management, transportation management and assortment planning.

Einr managing director Per Atle Steinsland said: “For the past eight years, we have delivered high volume logistics, retail and supply chain management solutions that helped our clients transform and grow within their industries.

“Together with Accenture, we will be able to deliver these highly specialized capabilities at scale, while creating exciting new development opportunities for our people.”

The closing of the transaction is subject to customary conditions.

Last week, Accenture expanded its global partnership with Google Cloud to help organisations better safeguard critical assets and bolster security against the constant threat of cyberattacks.
