Accenture has acquired MacGregor Partners, a US-based supply chain consultancy and technology provider specialising in intelligent logistics and warehouse management, for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition is expected to widen Accenture’s supply chain network and fulfilment transformation capabilities powered by Blue Yonder technology.

MacGregor Partners, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, delivers practical solutions designed to enable a faster, and more cost-effective logistics operation with the help of supply chain experts and a suite of purpose-built warehouse software.

With a team of more than 100 employees, the company is said to join Accenture’s Intelligent Platform Services group by assisting companies across industries with warehouse management system (WMS) and transportation management system (TMS) implementations.

MacGregor Partners president and CEO Jason Ziegler said: “For over a decade, we have helped our clients transform their distribution network technology landscape, keeping their products in motion.

“As part of the Accenture platform, we will positively impact a much larger portion of the global supply chain, while increasing the speed of innovation our clients have come to trust.

“This also provides our employees with incredible opportunities for growth as we collectively craft the future of supply chain.”

MacGregor Partners offers intellectual property and capabilities spanning data visualization and analytics solutions.

It is said to deliver real-time visibility and actionable insights to enhance warehouse and logistics performance.

The company is also said to focus on robotics solutions, particularly in selection and a robotics connectivity hub to quickly deploy automation alongside a WMS.

Accenture North America supply chain and operations lead Renato Scaff said: “Managing growing demands on fulfilment and distribution centres is a key component in our clients’ overall effort to totally reinvent their supply chain networks.”

“The acquisition of MacGregor deepens our capabilities for supply chain network transformation and extends our skilled workforce in delivering effective solutions with our alliance partner, Blue Yonder.”

Last month, Accenture signed a deal to acquire the businesses of cloud consulting company Sentia in the Netherlands, Bulgaria, and Belgium.
