The acquisition of Siemplify marks the next step of Google Cloud in its journey to advance invisible security and democratise security operations for organisations

Google Cloud has acquired Siemplify, a New York-based security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR) provider that serves enterprises and managed security service providers (MSSPs).
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Siemplify’s platform helps security teams in managing their operations from end to end, handle risk better, and speedily respond to cyber threats with precision and reduced costs.
Its technology is also said to help boost security operations centre (SOC) performance by decreasing caseloads, increasing analyst productivity, and creating improved visibility in workflows.

Siemplify will join Google Cloud’s security team to help firms better manage their response to cyber threats.
Google Cloud plans to invest in SOAR capabilities with Siemplify’s cloud services as a base. Furthermore, Google Cloud intends to integrate Siemplify’s capabilities into its enterprise security unit Chronicle in order to enable enterprises to modernise and automate their security operations.
According to Google Cloud security VP/GM Sunil Potti, offering a SOAR capability combined with Chronicle’s approach to security analytics is a major step forward in the company’s vision.
Potti said: “Building an intuitive, efficient security operations workflow around planet-scale security telemetry will further realise Google Cloud’s vision of a modern threat management stack that empowers customers to go beyond typical security event and information management (SIEM) and extended detection and response (XDR) tooling, enabling better detection and response at the speed and scale of modern environments.”
Siemplify was established in 2015 in Tel Aviv, Israel by Israeli Intelligence experts. The company has so far raised $58m in funding.
Siemplify CEO Amos Stern said: “We’re excited to join Google Cloud and build on the success we’ve had in the market helping companies address growing security threats.
“Together with Chronicle’s rich security analytics and threat intelligence, we can truly help security professionals transform the security operations centre to defend against today’s threats.”
