ZoomInfo, a US-based subscription-based software as a service (SaaS) company, has acquired conversation intelligence platform Chorus.ai for about $575m in an all-cash deal.

Established in 2015, the San Francisco-based Chorus employs machine learning and artificial intelligence for capturing and analysing prospect and customer calls, emails, and meetings.

Chorus’ conversation intelligence platform identifies and helps teams in replicating the winning behaviours of their top-performing representatives by analysing their sales meetings.

The platform generates insights that provide a base for a tailored coaching strategy for sales and customer success teams. Besides, it offers insight into customers’ voices throughout the entire organisation.

ZoomInfo, on the other hand, offers go-to-market software, data, and intelligence, serving over 20,000 global revenue teams. The company said that the acquisition of Chorus will provide it a new category of actionable insights to its intelligence layer, thereby unlocking workflows and driving engagement that is informed by conversations.

ZoomInfo founder and CEO Henry Schuck said: “ZoomInfo is the only company that can marry a best-in-class data layer with world-class go-to-market applications.

“The acquisition of Chorus will accelerate our vision to deliver a modern go-to-market platform that brings together best-in-class intelligence with comprehensive data management, workflow, and engagement software, empowering companies to effectively execute their revenue-generating strategies.”

ZoomInfo said that its combination with Chorus will enable customers to make exceptional data-driven decisions via their sales funnel. The company said that this will be achieved by combining its top-of-the-funnel strength with insights driven from the middle of the funnel in the customer conversations captured by Chorus.

Chorus CEO Jim Benton said: “ZoomInfo has a bold vision of delivering a world-class go-to-market platform that empowers companies to drive better execution and more revenue.

“Chorus will play a vital role in helping deliver on that promise with deep, A.I.-driven insights based on real interactions with prospects and customers, a previously untapped source of crucial data about their relationships.”
