Teradata has entered into a three-year collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) with an objective to help organisations speed up their cloud adoption journey and digital transformation initiatives.

The US-based enterprise software company is engaged in developing and selling database analytics software subscriptions.

Alongside AWS, the company is said to be increasing product integrations and development with the former’s cloud technologies.

The duo is also introducing joint go-to-market programmes for helping customers in migrating, modernising, and de-risking their cloud adoption journey using the Teradata Vantage connected multi-cloud data platform on AWS.

Their partnership will focus on certain industries around the world.

AWS and Teradata have agreed to help customers use artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and Internet of Things (IoT) services to drive real-time data insight and data management connected to the latter’s data platform.

AWS partner organisation global head Doug Yeum said: “AWS is delighted to establish a Strategic Collaboration Agreement with Teradata as we always aim to help customers use data to innovate and modernise faster in the cloud.

“This collaboration accelerates Teradata’s ability to meet the demands of the largest data workloads we see, with cloud services from AWS to expedite the value and benefits Teradata can offer customers.”

Data scientists, data analysts, IT, DevOps, and line of business teams can use Teradata Vantage on AWS to migrate, manage, connect, and build new data workloads and applications across the range of AWS services, at enterprise scale in the cloud, said Teradata.

For enterprises adopting AWS industry clouds, Teradata and AWS are said to provide reference architectures that can be readily used as well as case-specific recipes that utilise Teradata Vantage’s power and speed to drive effective business outcomes.

Teradata said that through tight integration with its connected multi-cloud data platform, users of Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), AWS Service Catalog, and AWS Data Exchange are provided with an open approach to data sharing with open file formats.

The users can also make use of various tools, models, technologies, and industry data to access and process the data within the Teradata Vantage platform at scale, said the company.

Last month, Teradata announced a partnership with AI cloud platform provider H2O.ai with an aim to expedite enterprise AI adoption in the cloud.
