SAP and Google Cloud have expanded their collaboration to introduce an extensive open data offering designed to simplify data landscapes and unlock the potential of business data.

The new offering is expected to allow customers to develop an end-to-end data cloud.

By leveraging the SAP Datasphere solution along with Google’s data cloud, the end-to-end data cloud is anticipated to bring data from across the enterprise landscape.

It will help enterprises to view their entire data estates in real time and optimise value from their Google Cloud and SAP software investments.

SAP Datasphere is said to aggregate mission-critical data from all over the company landscape, regardless of origin.

SAP CEO and executive board member Christian Klein said: “Bringing together SAP systems and data with Google’s data cloud introduces entirely new opportunities for enterprises to derive more value from their full data footprints.

“SAP and Google Cloud share a commitment to open data and our extended partnership will help break down barriers between data stored in disparate systems, databases, and environments.”

The ability to seamlessly combine SAP software data with non-SAP data on Google Cloud from virtually any other data source allows businesses to expedite their digital transformation with a fully defined data foundation that keeps a complete business context, said the companies.

Through the integration of SAP Datasphere and Google Cloud BigQuery, customers are expected to easily access their most critical data in real time without data duplication.

The new open data offering will allow enterprises to leverage Google Cloud’s AI and machine learning services to train models on data from SAP and non-SAP systems.
Besides, the offering enables customers to simplify their data landscapes.

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said: “SAP and Google Cloud now offer an incredibly comprehensive and open data cloud, providing a foundation for the future of enterprise AI.

“Few resources are as important to digital transformation as data. By deeply integrating SAP data and systems with our data cloud, customers will be able to utilize our analytics capabilities, as well as advanced AI tools and large language models to find new insights from their data.”

SAP and Google Cloud are also planning to collaborate on joint go-to-market initiatives for organisations’ largest data projects, allowing customers to adopt data products from both companies.
