Science Applications International (SAIC) has secured a $1.3bn single source contract from the US Department of the Treasury (USDT) to deliver T-Cloud, which includes a whole range of cloud and professional services.

Under the T-Cloud contract, the US-based technology company will provide a shared service cloud infrastructure model to offer enterprise-wide efficiencies in access, contracting, and security. The contract is for seven years.

Besides, SAIC will offer services for business operations, network, service desk, technical, security, subject matter expert support, and transition services.

According to SAIC, the T-Cloud contract will facilitate the US Treasury’s adoption and transformation of a multi-cloud environment by centralising control of the systems infrastructure, platform, and software-as-a-service with the help of a single broker.

Besides the full suites of Microsoft, Google, Amazon Web Services (AWS), IBM, and Oracle cloud services, the department will have the additional opportunity to get new cloud service providers onboard.

The T-Cloud contract is said to be in line with SAIC’s plan to focus on growth and technology accelerants (GTAs) in the field of secure cloud capabilities.

SAIC defence and civilian sector president Bob Genter said: “T-Cloud will enable the Treasury Department to rapidly and securely adopt a modern, flexible and cost-effective approach to utilising and consuming data in the cloud.

“SAIC is honoured to be the Treasury Department’s cloud services digital transformation partner.”

SAIC provides secure high-end solutions in engineering, digital, artificial intelligence, and mission solutions across the defence, space, civilian and intelligence markets.

The company also delivers a suite of cloud migration tools called CloudScend.

Earlier this year, SAIC won a $2.6bn worth FAA Systems Engineering and Technical Innovative Solutions (SETIS) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
