Tech major Microsoft has acquired Minit, a European process mining technology provider, for an undisclosed price.

Minit’s solutions are said to help businesses discover opportunities for continuously improving their processes and drive better operational efficiency.

Microsoft process insights general manager Justin Graham, in the company blog, wrote: “Organisations across the globe are seeking to be more operationally resilient and accelerate their digital transformation plans.

“Seamless operations and ensuring that every component of each business process runs smoothly is critical, but most leaders are not able to understand the actual performance of their processes and end up making decisions based on subjective information.”

Currently, Minit enables businesses in transforming the manner in which they analyse, monitor, and optimise their processes.

Its solutions are claimed to have helped businesses get deep insights into the way processes run, unearth the root causes of challenges in operations, and in mitigating unwanted process outcomes.

Through the acquisition, Microsoft is said to bolster its process mining capabilities.

With the addition of Minit, the tech major expects to help its customers further in digitally transforming and driving operational excellence. These can be achieved by creating a full picture of their business processes and letting all the processes be analysed and improved easily and automatically, wrote Graham.

Furthermore, Microsoft’s customers will be in a position to better understand their process data, find out how operations appear in reality, and drive standardisation and enhancement of processes throughout the entire organisation for ensuring compliance at all steps.

Minit founder and chief strategy officer Rasto Hlavac said: “For years our team has been focused on enabling global businesses to become more efficient with our market leading process mining solution. Joining forces with Microsoft means that we can deliver positive outcomes to our customers on a different scale.”
