IBM has expanded its collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deliver generative artificial intelligence (AI) solutions and expertise to mutual clients.

Through the expanded partnership, both parties aim to offer joint solutions and services enhanced with generative AI capabilities designed to help customers across critical use cases.

Besides, IBM Consulting plans to boost and grow its generative AI expertise on AWS by training 10,000 consultants by the end of next year.

The collaboration is expected to help the clients of both companies to rapidly integrate AI into business and IT operations building on AWS.

IBM Consulting global AI and analytics leader senior partner Manish Goyal said: “Enterprise clients are looking for expert help to build a strategy and develop generative AI use cases that can drive business value and transformation – while mitigating risks.

“Paired with IBM’s AI heritage and deep expertise in business transformation on AWS, this suite of reengineered solutions with embedded generative AI capabilities can help our mutual clients to scale generative AI applications rapidly and responsibly on their platform of choice.”

IBM Consulting and AWS are planning to improve the solutions and services that are already offered to clients. The solutions include Contact Center Modernization with Amazon Connect, Platform Services on AWS, and Supply Chain Ensemble on AWS.

Contact Center Modernization with Amazon Connect develops summarisation and categorisation functions for voice and digital interactions using generative AI.

These are designed to enable transfers between the chatbot and live agent and offer the agent with summarised details that accelerate resolution times and enhance quality management.

Initially launched in November 2022, Platform Services on AWS is newly upgraded with generative AI to more efficiently handle the entire cloud value chain including IT Ops, automation, and platform engineering.

Supply Chain Ensemble on AWS is a proposed offering that will introduce a virtual assistant that can fast track and supplement the work of supply chain professionals.

Furthermore, IBM Consulting intends to incorporate AWS generative AI capabilities into its IBM Consulting Cloud Accelerator to assist in expediting the cloud transformation process for clients looking to modernise on AWS.

AWS global systems integrators managing director Chris Niederman said: “Our customers are increasingly looking for the technical support and AI expertise they need to build and implement a generative AI strategy that drives business value from their entire cloud value chain.

“We are excited to be working with IBM to include embedded generative AI capabilities that assist our mutual customers scale their applications – and help IBM consultants deepen their expertise on best practices for customer engagement with AWS generative AI services.”
