More and more businesses are integrating into widespread cloud computing in 2017 to keep up with digital and innovative trends.

Thus, according to a survey carried out by International Business Machines (IBM), an increasing amount of companies are migrating on-site intelligence to the cloud.

The multinational technology behemoth polled 1,000 senior executives from 18 industries as to their implementation of the cloud, which is the storage and access of data via the Internet.

Almost all of the survey’s total respondents use the cloud in some way, with 78 percent citing that they did so from partial to full capacity.

More specifically, most Chief information officers (CIOs) and other c-suite members conveyed that their enterprises interact with the hybrid cloud, a combination of public and private cloud services.

As such, this practice ensures that users will have their needs met in regards to business flexibility and data deployment.

Furthermore, digital and IT experts claim that 2017 is ripe with trends that will accelerate the development of cloud systems.

Of particular focus is cognitive computing, a comprehensive application of various artificial intelligence (AI) subsystems. By utilizing algorithms and drawing from machine learning (ML), it aims to achieve processes that copy that of the brain.

Experts believe that the cloud will power ML as the prevalence of digital tools expands.

Recent findings reveal that 80% of world data gathered and saved by computers is  inaccessible to humankind. However, our comparatively stunted processing power stops us from understanding it.

Therefore, cognitive computing is a kind of mediator between ourselves, and these unseen realms of blossoming data. Thus, in its simplest form, it is the apex of an advanced user friendly interface that facilitates human decision making.

Its ability to understand context and hierarchical data has far reaching potential in facilitating data collection, storage, and usage.

Pundits predict its presence within cloud computing will have a transformative influence from business services to personal use.
