Oracle said that Bharti Airtel (Airtel) has selected two of its Oracle Fusion Cloud applications to expedite digital transformation across its supply chain and finance processes.

The Indian communications solutions provider will leverage Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Management (SCM) solutions for digitising and simplifying its finance, planning, and supply chain processes.

Airtel by using the integrated Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle Cloud SCM applications is expected to transform its shared services operations, which focus on bringing in productivity and agility across the firm.

According to Oracle, the two applications will help Airtel in the automation of manual processes. Furthermore, they will help the Indian firm get an on-demand 360-degree view of its financial data, and optimise procurement and supply chain management.

Oracle India senior vice president and regional managing director Shailender Kumar said: “At Oracle, we are committed to helping every customer navigate market challenges, stay ahead of the curve in innovation, and adapt digital strategies to future-proof their business.

“With Oracle Cloud Applications, Airtel will be able to leverage the latest technology and innovation to meet shifting customer expectations and revamp their business operations.”

Oracle Consulting will undertake the implementation of the two Oracle Fusion Cloud applications. Following this, Airtel will be expanding its Oracle Cloud footprint after the former’s recent shift to Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) to support its employees as well as associates.

Airtel CIO Pradipt Kapoor said: “We are investing in transforming our internal operating models so that employees and partners can work effectively for better customer engagement and service.

“Airtel and Oracle have had a very successful and long-standing partnership across a wide range of areas. We are delighted to expand this partnership to leverage Oracle’s advanced technology and deep experience to enhance operational efficiencies across some of our key business processes.”

Last month Airtel secured an investment commitment of up to $1bn from Google. The two firms will work towards accelerating the growth of the digital ecosystem in India.
