Google Cloud has announced a multi-year partnership with enterprise cloud applications provider Workday to enable businesses to speed up their digital transformation.

As part of the partnership, Google Cloud is expected to help businesses run Workday enterprise applications for finance, human resources (HR), and planning in a public cloud environment.

Google Cloud is a preferred cloud partner for Workday across core industries such as healthcare, financial services, and retail.

Currently, Workday has more than 50 million users and serves over 8,000 customers globally.

The partnership is aimed at supporting businesses to initiate digital strategies to improve employee productivity and operational resiliency amid evolving hybrid and remote working models.

Workday co-CEO Chano Fernandez said: “The combination of Workday and Google Cloud provides customers with an exceptional public cloud experience where they can take advantage of leading innovation services from both companies, helping to drive greater value from their enterprise investments.

“Together, we’re uniquely positioned to deliver industry-leading cloud capabilities so organisations can enhance workforce productivity and accelerate their digital transformations.”

The partnership is anticipated to offer an enhanced choice for customers to meet their business requirements.

It will enable them to deploy Workday Financial Management, Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), and Workday Adaptive Planning all on Google Cloud.

As part of the multi-year relationship, the two companies intend to develop strategic, joint, go-to-market programmes.

The initiatives will comprise co-marketing activities and establishing co-selling programmes for increased awareness among customers and prospects across the US.

In addition, the two firms will focus on co-innovation opportunities to roll out transformative technologies for retail, healthcare, and financial services industries.

Last month, Google Cloud and SAP expanded their partnership to allow customers to speed up their cloud migrations and business process migrations.

As part of the partnership, Google’s Cloud business will be a strategic cloud partner for the RISE with SAP offering.
