US-based Internet of Things (IoT) enabler company Telit has acquired group assets from Mobilogix, a US-based start-up company specialising in custom IoT solutions globally.

The acquisition is expected to give Telit access to the larger growing segment of new and existing IoT adopters who want to cut down on complexity and time to market.

Telit CEO Paolo Pino said: “From Fortune 500 to start-ups, companies adopting IoT prefer to start from a business idea or a vision and turn them directly into viable, competitive, ready-to-launch devices and solutions – without taking focus away from their core businesses.

“We have award-winning, industry-leading modules, connectivity, and platforms at Telit. The addition of the Mobilogix expertise in design and industrialisation gives us the ability to build end-to-end custom solutions — fully utilising all our offerings — for our customers, so they can focus on their business and objectives.”

The deal is also said to increase the resources and comprehensive device engineering expertise that are dedicated to improving the specifications for handoff to electronic manufacturing services, manufacturing original devices, and obtaining regulatory approvals and carrier certifications.

Telit offers IoT modules and edge-to-cloud services including connectivity plans, IoT embedded software, IoT SIMs and PaaS IoT deployment managed services.

Mobilogix CEO Mathi Gurusamy said: “We built Mobilogix into a successful global business with a razor-sharp focus on creating competitive, custom IoT solutions quickly for customers in verticals like telematics, micro-mobility, healthcare, construction, and agriculture, sourcing modules and connectivity from across the IoT value chain.

“Bringing solutions together with all-Telit modules, connectivity and platforms makes the custom design much more efficient for our large and small customers to get to market. As part of Telit, we can create these projects faster and reach a much larger market.”

Upon closing of the deal, Mobilogix is said to move its employees and offices into Telit’s new Irvine headquarters.
