Oracle said that US-based health care system WellSpan Health has selected the Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite for unifying its operations and enhancing business visibility.

WellSpan Health, which operates in 220 locations and runs eight hospitals, aims to maximise its operational efficiency through its partnership with Oracle. As part of this, the company will bring in Oracle Fusion Applications in place of its legacy on-premises business systems.

Oracle Fusion Applications is expected to help WellSpan Health integrate its finance, human resources processes, and supply chain in the cloud in order to lower costs, improve operational insights, boost the team member experience, and support its future growth.

WellSpan Health executive vice president and chief financial officer Laura Buczkowski said: “At WellSpan, we are relentless in our pursuit of discovering better ways to serve our communities.

“As we expanded, we knew we needed to eliminate complex systems and find a solution that would streamline business processes to better support our growing workforce.

“Partnering with Oracle will allow us to leverage best-in-class cloud applications to help our team members work and collaborate more efficiently so that they can deliver unparalleled care to the communities we operate in.”

According to Oracle, the Oracle Fusion applications will enable WellSpan Health to leverage the cloud to break down organisational silos apart from standardising processes, and managing financial, HR, and supply chain data on a single integrated cloud platform.

Oracle applications development executive vice president Steve Miranda said: “WellSpan is helping reimagine the future of healthcare through the delivery of comprehensive and equitable health and wellness solutions.

“With Oracle Fusion Applications, WellSpan will be able to take advantage of an integrated suite of cloud applications to optimize its core business operations and ultimately deliver the highest quality of care possible to patients across its network.”
