Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) said that Indian pharma company Lupin has deployed the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform for running its advanced SAP S/4HANA mission-critical environment to drive its digital transformation.

The HPE platform is expected to help the pharma company expedite its digitisation, transform critical business processes, as well as boost performance.

Lupin has 15 manufacturing facilities and seven research centres, while employing over 20,000 people around the world.

According to HPE, the pharma company identified the necessity for digitising more applications, enhancing scalability, cutting down the risk of security breaches, and eliminating the loss of critical data.

HPE said that it had deployed a pay-per-use model with minimal upfront investment for Lupin to transition its existing SAP ERP Central Component to S/4 HANA.

Lupin chief information officer Sreeji Gopinathan said: “At Lupin, our priority was to transition to a highly scalable and flexible IT infrastructure to manage the variable demands from the business and to support new projects and initiatives without compromising data security.

“HPE proposed an entire end-to-end solution with HPE GreenLake to manage our applications from a single platform. With this solution, we retain our mission-critical data and technology within our own data centers and have a solution that delivers the highest levels of availability and security, which are both crucial to our business.”

HPE said that the HPE GreenLake platform gives Lupin scalability and cloud experience. As the data of the pharma firm is stored on-premises, the platform also meets compliance and regulatory needs, said HPE.

The solution deployed by Lupin uses HPE Superdome Flex modular compute platform for in-memory processing and mission-critical capabilities, which is said to help with superior performance for SAP S/4 HANA workloads.

The platform provides a dashboard for monitoring and planning the consumption of resources on a daily basis. Besides, it is said to give full visibility of IT spend to enhance budget planning and forecasting.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise, India, SVP and managing director Som Satsangi said: “We are excited to partner with Lupin and offer them the HPE GreenLake platform to obtain the best on-premises cloud experience to address their current and future business challenges.

“Customers are increasingly choosing the HPE GreenLake platform to obtain the best cloud experience for their industry-critical workloads.”
