Instabug, a US-based software company, has announced a collaboration with Instana, an IBM company, to integrate its mobile application performance product suite with the latter’s observability platform.

Through the partnership, both parties aim to eliminate the end-to-end visibility gap for mobile app teams and the operations teams that support them.

As part of the partnership, the parties are expected to engage in joint sales and marketing collaboration along with deep product integrations.

The new solution is expected to be rolled out jointly by the two companies in the market.

The collaboration is anticipated to enable the companies’ customers to track their mobile applications in Instabug and use Instana to view any client-side degradation that may have resulted from backend calls.

By the integration of the two developer experiences, customers are said to get an easy access to critical debugging information. It is also expected to help them to find issues quickly, discover the true root cause, and fix them before their users and business are affected.

Instabug CEO Omar Gabr said: “Mobile users can intuitively feel whether a mobile app is crafted and managed with care. That feel directly translates into customer loyalty, engagement, and ultimately spend.

“Customer feel is central to mobile app performance. Our expertise lies in the perfect tuning of client-side issues like UI transitions, app launch times, avoiding app hangs, and optimal screen loading.

“We are the market leader in mobile performance, but often issues arise from the backend. That’s where Instana fits in and we’re thrilled to be partnering with them.”

Founded in Egypt and based in San Francisco, Instabug offers a platform that scales with businesses of any size, enabling both independent developers and enterprises to monitor, notify, prioritise, and debug during crucial stages of the application life cycle.

The company equips mobile teams with a unified mobile observability platform that offers overall performance insights and granular information on user issues to boost downloads, satisfaction, and retention.

IBM Instana CRO Keith Whitehead said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Instabug. The best observability platform with the best mobile monitoring product is a winning combination for every company that relies on communicating and doing business with their customers via mobile applications.”
