IBM has announced plans to acquire Waeg, a consulting partner for Salesforce in Europe, to extend its services portfolio.

Founded in 2014, Waeg offers a range of Salesforce consulting services, with offices in seven European countries.

The services range from digital strategy advisory, business-to-business commerce, marketing automation and customer experience design to implementation and managed services.

Waeg also claims to have 400 Salesforce certifications and expert distinctions in Salesforce’s Navigator programme in Manufacturing, Pardot, and Salesforce B2B Commerce.

The company will become part of IBM’s Salesforce business within IBM global business services to speed up growth across Europe.

IBM services and global business services senior vice president Mark Foster said: “Salesforce continues to play a critical role in companies’ digital transformations as they adapt to the conditions created by the pandemic.

“Trust is the new currency of customer and employment engagement, and every touchpoint is an opportunity to personalise the relationship.

“Waeg’s strength in Salesforce consulting services will be key to creating intelligent workflows that allow our clients to keep pace with changing customer and employee needs and expectations.”

The acquisition, which is part of IBM’s continued investment in Salesforce consulting services, is also aimed at bolstering its hybrid cloud and AI strategy.

IBM said that the investment is being made to meet the growing client demand for new customer engagement strategies backed by data, AI and machine learning.

The Waeg acquisition is expected to boost global IBM Salesforce talent with strategic consulting expertise and multi-cloud capabilities across Europe.

Waeg co-founder and managing partner Chris Timmerman said: “Waeg’s growth was built on the simple notion of helping our clients successfully navigate constantly changing customer demands.

“Now, as we join forces with IBM, we are excited to leverage our collective Salesforce capabilities to accelerate that growth across Europe.”

In January this year, IBM acquired a US Salesforce consultancy 7Summits to expand its services and experience design capabilities.

7Summits is engaged in designing and developing innovative digital experiences to support companies in solving complex business problems.
