Technology giant IBM and Red Hat have partnered with German process mining software firm Celonis to help address the challenges faced by companies in their digital transformation initiatives.

The partnership is aimed at accelerating the adoption of the Celonis Execution Management System (EMS), which sits on top of core enterprise systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning and Customer Relationship Management.

Designed to collect real-time data from the systems, Celonis EMS applies process intelligence in order to help identify and unlock execution capacity across a business.

To strengthen its consulting approach, IBM Global Business Services (GBS) will also include Celonis software as part of its methodology, alongside the application of IBM data and AI solutions.

IBM Services senior vice president Mark Foster said: “This strategic partnership accelerates IBM’s billion-dollar partner ecosystem commitment and reflects our bold approach to expanding into high growth, emerging categories to help meet the evolving hybrid cloud and AI needs of our clients.

“The bottom line is our clients are looking to accelerate the transformation of their  workflows and make them more intelligent.

“Through this powerful new global strategic partnership with Celonis, we’re adding to IBM’s suite of technology capabilities to unlock value and help propel our clients’ growth and innovation.”

The partnership will also see the re-platforming of the Celonis software as a hybrid cloud solution on Red Hat OpenShift to provide more flexibility for customers in deploying their technologies.

Apart from enhancing Celonis’ interoperability across customers’ existing systems, the flexibility is expected to be useful in highly regulated industries.

Initially, the partnership between Celonis and IBM GBS will focus on advanced end-to-end consulting expertise; embed in IBM Garage; business process outsourcing; and industry-specific intelligent workflows.

As part of the partnership, IBM will integrate Celonis into its consulting work for clients across service line areas like supply chain, finance, procurement, HR, and customer experience.

In addition, Celonis will be adopted by IBM GBS for many of its business process outsourcing engagements.

The Celonis intelligent execution management software will also be integrated into its IBM Garage methodology for workflow analysis and accelerate intelligent workflows for critical processes.

The EMS offerings of Celonis are designed to help companies manage every facet of execution management from analytics to strategy and planning, management, actions and automation.

Some of the Celonis’ customers include ABB, AstraZeneca, Bosch, Coca-Cola, Citibank, Danaher Corporation, Dell, GSK, John Deere, L’Oréal, Siemens, Uber, Vodafone and Whirlpool.
