Google Cloud has expanded its alliance with audit, tax and advisory services provider KPMG to help customers integrate the former’s generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into the front, middle and back offices of organisations.

As part of the collaboration, KPMG will invest in rapidly training its practice of Google Cloud experts to assist firms in quickly adopting and scaling new generative AI initiatives.

The extended partnership is initially believed to bring Google Cloud’s innovations in AI and data analytics to clients in the financial services, healthcare, and retail sectors.

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said: “Google Cloud is focused on applying generative AI to practical, real-world use cases that will create value across industries.

“Through our expanded alliance with KPMG, we will accelerate the application of Google Cloud generative AI throughout the world’s largest organisations, helping them deliver innovation and empower employees, create more value from data, and more.”

Through the collaboration, Google Cloud’s infrastructure and generative AI capabilities in products including Vertex AI and Generative AI App Builder are expected to be integrated with KPMG’s expertise in cloud transformation, analytics, and responsible AI.

KPMG is said to assist firms with data-driven transformation and decision-making while responding to evolving business environments by utilising Google Cloud’s secure and extensible AI capabilities.

KPMG US Deputy chair and chief operating officer Laura Newinski said: “There’s an increased need to accelerate digital transformation and manage disruption in the market.

“Together with Google Cloud, we are excited to help our clients innovate at scale and embrace change, while protecting data in a secure environment.

“Our combined industry expertise uniquely positions us to partner with our clients throughout this journey, one that’s been accelerated by the exciting new capabilities of Google Cloud.”

Google Cloud said that providing analytics solutions and generative AI on a secure cloud platform would offer clients an agile, flexible environment to adopt and scale generative AI capabilities rapidly.

Both companies have partnered over the past five years to assist customers in adopting new technologies for delivering tangible and sustainable outcomes.
