Spanish financial services firm Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) has partnered with Accenture to streamline operations with analytics and artificial intelligence (AI).

The application of analytics and AI is expected to enable BBVA to boost decision-making and enhance the customer service experience.

The 10-year agreement between the two companies will focus to speed up digital transformation for BBVA.

As part of the agreement, Accenture will engage in retooling processes to enhance the agility of BBVA operations. It will also help the Spanish firm in adapting to new ways of working with AI and analytics.

Accenture Operations group chief executive Manish Sharma said: “The banking industry has a long history of adapting technology in ways that transform how they operate, interact with customers and increase market share.

“Our collaboration with BBVA aims to create future-readiness while rising above dynamic market conditions and pivoting to new sources of value.”

Accenture’s AI-powered SynOps platform is expected to provide the capabilities that BBVA needs to make data-driven decisions, improve operational costs and simplify services.

The collaboration will also enable BBVA to gain enhanced insights and provide clients with more effective services.

Earlier this year, Accenture signed an agreement with BBVA to acquire full ownership of QIPRO Soluciones, a business process outsourcing company with operation centres in Málaga and Murcia in Spain.

Under the new deal, QIPRO Soluciones will continue to support BBVA operations.

Recently, Finland’s financial services group OP has renewed its partnership with Accenture to further optimise its digital banking operations.

The partnership involves the usage of automation, advanced analytics and other emerging technologies to increase business agility, reduce costs and deliver enhanced customer and employee experiences.

OP is expected to deploy the intelligent automation platform Accenture myWizard, as part of the collaboration.

The platform will facilitate the automation of routine tasks for OP and enable its employees to focus on more meaningful work.
