Accenture, through its digital customer experience business Accenture Interactive, has acquired Malaysia-based digital agency Entropia for an undisclosed price.

The acquisition marks the maiden acquisition for Accenture Interactive in Southeast Asia.

Entropia is expected to complement Accenture Interactive’s capabilities in customer experience, design, and creative communications, and also expand its market position for experience-led transformation services.

Accenture Interactive growth markets president Flaviano Faleiro said: “The acquisition of Entropia lets us lean further into our global vision to take experiences – designed through deep human insights and powered by creativity and technology – to the next level. It also helps us deliver on our growth ambitions for our people, clients and the industry across the Asia Pacific region.”

Established in 2016, the Kuala Lumpur-based digital agency has a workforce of over 210 employees, who are said to be skilled in scaling digital experiences for brands.

Entropia is engaged in designing digital transformation roadmaps, future-ready platforms and apps, digital first experiences, data-driven campaigns, apps, websites, customer relationship management (CRM) programmes, and marketing automation platforms among others.

The agency had helped blue-chip clients such as BMW, KFC, Nespresso, Tenaga Nasional, Lazada, and Telekom Malaysia create brand experiences.

Recently, Entropia worked with BMW to develop an action-packed augmented reality (AR) showroom for the new BMW X5 to bring the car and its features to life for consumers during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Entropia founder and senior partner Prashant Kumar said: “This is the perfect time to join with Accenture Interactive and raise the bar in transforming data-driven marketing for businesses. I am thrilled to have both organisations come together and expand the canvas for our people, clients and their customers.”

In May 2021, Accenture acquired assets from ThinkTank, a US-based digital engagement technology company, in a move to boost its digital platform deployment capabilities.
