Baker Hughes, an energy technology company, is joining forces with C3 AI, Accenture, and Microsoft to provide clients in the energy and industrial sectors with industrial asset management (IAM) solutions.

The partnership will be focused on developing and deploying Baker Hughes IAM solutions. The target industries for the solutions are renewable energy, oil and gas, and thermal power generation, chemicals, pulp and paper, and metals and mining.

Besides, Baker Hughes, Accenture, C3 AI, and Microsoft will explore working on solutions to help achieve net-zero carbon emissions and decarbonisation of energy and industrial sectors, including management of emissions.

According to Baker Hughes, its IAM solutions employ digital technologies to help enhance the safety, efficiency, and emissions profile of field equipment, industrial machines, and other physical assets.

The four partners will work together on Baker Hughes IAM capabilities. These include helping in optimising plant equipment, business operations, and operational processes by means of enhanced uptime, greater operational flexibility, capital planning, and management of energy efficiency.

Baker Hughes chairman and CEO Lorenzo Simonelli said: “This collaboration accelerates our growth strategy to provide differentiated IAM solutions that enhance our customer’s industrial operations by optimizing the performance of industrial equipment and processes.

“IAM connects industrial data to domain-specific insights for improved efficiencies and lowered energy use and emissions. We see this as an important step to support the industry’s net-zero targets.”

Baker Hughes’ role in the partnership is to offer industrial customers domain-specific digital expertise and technology.

C3 AI, on its part, will contribute a flexible artificial intelligence (AI) application development platform to complement the technologies of Baker Hughes.

Accenture will help in driving innovation in products, design and development. The company will also offer strategic support and integration of systems at scale.

Microsoft’s role will be to offer secure cloud infrastructure for big data, advanced Microsoft Azure services such as AI, high performance computing (HPC), and Internet of Things (IoT) along with modern work and business applications.

Microsoft executive vice president and chief commercial officer Judson Althoff said: “Together, we have a tremendous opportunity to deliver cloud-based technologies across customers’ industrial operations that enable them to reduce costs and increase efficiencies while advancing their net-zero goals.”

Recently, Baker Hughes partnered with C3 AI to offer enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to Petronas to help expedite its digital transformation.
