Cognizant has extended its healthcare partnership with Microsoft to bring the latter’s cloud-based technology solutions to the healthcare market.

Through the collaboration, the parties intend to provide healthcare payers and providers with access to optimised claims management, technology solutions, and enhanced interoperability.

This is expected to streamline business operations along with delivering better patient and member experiences.

As part of the extended partnership, Cognizant and Microsoft will collaborate to develop an integration roadmap between the former’s TriZetto healthcare products with Microsoft Cloud for healthcare.

Besides, the companies will work together to build and operate Cognizant’s current and future healthcare software as a service (SaaS) solutions on Microsoft Azure.

Microsoft global healthcare and life sciences corporate vice president Tom McGuinness said: “Through this integration with Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare, TriZetto customers can harness the innovative features and capabilities across the entire Microsoft Cloud, empowering them to unlock growth, tap into new revenue streams, and transition their existing services to the cloud.”

Cognizant and Microsoft will migrate new and existing clients from on premises environments to optimised functions managed on the Microsoft Cloud as well as support future technologies developed to offer new insights for payers, providers, and customers.

TriZetto healthcare products are a suite of software solutions to support firms drive administrative efficiency, improve revenue growth, enhance cost and quality of care, and the member and patient experience.

According to Cognizant, the partnership increases transparency for clients who can easily access historical healthcare data, analyse procedure prices for services, and compare pricing across providers to make informed healthcare decisions.
