CI Security launched Critical Insight Anti-Ransomware solution, as organisations worldwide face a growing threat of sophisticated ransomware attacks.

In 2020, more than half of medium and large organisations worldwide are found to have been hit by ransomware attacks, said the company. In the US, ransomware attacks surged 139% last year, with an estimated 4,000 cyberattacks daily since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

The ransomware protection solution from CI Security features an integrated suite of services to prepare for, identify, and resolve ransomware attacks.

With its security assessment and preparation services, the anti-ransomware solution enables an organisation to mitigate preventable attacks, respond to and neutralise an infection, and improve security posture.

CI Security CISO Michael Hamilton said: “IT and IS leaders are frustrated at silver-bullet solutions that don’t deliver on big promises. There’s no single thing that can stop ransomware.

“Organisations need multi-faceted solutions to prepare for an attack, identify an attack rapidly, and resolve the situation after the attack.”

To prevent and recover from ransomware attacks, organisations are provided with options to select more than two dozen services under the company’s Critical Insight Security Programme.

CI Security stated that the package is a specifically curated group of services to reduce risk from an impactful ransomware attack.

The preparation services offered under the new solution include security risk assessments, security awareness training and continuous vulnerability identification.

The identification services consist of managed detection and response (MDR), managed endpoint detection and response (EDR) with Microsoft Defender monitoring, and Office 365 monitoring.

Offered as part of the Critical Insight Anti-Ransomware solution, resolve services include Incident Response Playbook, Regular Tabletop Exercises and Incident Response Retainer.

In August, CI Security announced the expansion of its offerings to include Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) with Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP).

The new Microsoft Defender ATP integration is aimed at allowing the company to monitor events and alerts from Microsoft Defender ATP using analyst-driven hunting and investigation activities.
