Thailand-based Yim Platform has entered into a partnership with Google Cloud with the objective to help hotel, restaurant, and catering (HoReCa) businesses recover and keep up with the evolving food preferences of customers.

Through the collaboration, the food business subsidiary of Thai retailing company Central Retail aims to become a one-stop B2B HoReCa e-commerce platform with net zero carbon emissions by the year 2050.

By leveraging Google Cloud’s infrastructure and services, Yim Platform expects to enhance the customer experience and empower users with the help of data-driven intelligence.

Yim Platform has introduced CHO YIM, a platform for traditional grocery retailers. It has also launched CHEF YIM, a one-stop B2B e-commerce platform for HoReCa firms to buy premium ingredients and supplies at affordable rates.

Central Retail Yim Platform co-founder and head Jirasak Chirathivat said: “Through a digital-first approach, CHEF YIM is streamlining supply chains to help them easily obtain supplies with profitability in mind. We’ve also seen the rise of an ‘at-home economy,’ with Thais incorporating home cooking into their daily routines.

“With the launch of CHO YIM and CHEF YIM at Home, we expect our technology requirements to increase exponentially. We’re therefore moving to Google Cloud for its superior scalability, developer-friendly tools, unmatched data analytics expertise, focus on sustainability, and speed of execution.”

“With Google Cloud as our primary cloud provider, we’ve found the secret sauce for accelerating CHEF YIM and CHO YIM’s next phase of growth.”

Through the partnership, the serverless computing and automated application deployment capabilities of Google Cloud’s Cloud Run will be leveraged by Yim Platform. This is expected to enhance the digital shopping experience as well as to enable the release of software upgrades without any downtime.

In addition, Yim Platform will make use of Google Cloud’s BigQuery for integrating internal and third-party datasets. The B2B will use Google Cloud’s Looker Studio to transform the data into insights that can guide business decisions.
