Accenture has revealed plans to acquire Greenfish, an independent Belgium-based engineering and advisory firm, for an undisclosed price.

Greenfish specialises in providing sustainability consultancy services.

Established in 2010, the company’s consultancy services and engineering solutions are said to help in expediting sustainable business transformation, starting from strategy to implementation.

The company has offices in Belgium, the Netherlands, and France.

It has over 270 professionals, who would become a part of Accenture Sustainability Services.

Accenture France and Benelux market unit lead Olivier Girard said: “Organisations are increasingly pursuing more sustainable business models and improved performance in environmental, social and governance (ESG) terms. This shift brings financial and competitive value to companies, while making sustainability and ESG a priority at all levels of the organisation.

“Acquiring Greenfish would further enhance our deep experience in helping European clients improve their ESG performance and embed sustainability by design in their operations.”

Accenture Sustainability Services with its services and solutions is said to enable clients in achieving net-zero and circular businesses. It helps clients make use of digital investment for creating intelligent organisations that are sustainable at their core.

By acquiring Greenfish, Accenture expects to build its sustainability skills as well as capabilities and scale its services much quicker to address the increasing requirements of clients.

Greenfish co-founder Yann Louise said: “We are motivated by this opportunity to join a leading organization to continue to drive sustainability as a top priority.

“Combining our respective expertise would allow us to reach a larger group of clients, and offer a whole new level of strategic counsel and services, thus accelerating the sustainability transformation of our clients and increasing our impact on society.”

According to Accenture, the acquisition of Greenfish would need prior consultation with the relevant works councils and will be subject to the meeting of customary closing conditions.

Last week, Accenture introduced a new global sovereign cloud practice to help organisations in leveraging disruptive new technologies in the cloud with trusted frameworks, services, and controls.
